Gideon and Fyneia is a fun picture, is a serene image of a couple ina well placed environment. Composition and quality are excellent as well as anatomy and expression. Changes in tone and shade are a mark of an excellent eye and shading intuition. The distance from the tree to Fyneia is a good show of proportion and perspective. To put it simply, it's really cute and I really like it. The mood is perfect.
Very few errors aside from his boots being hard to tell apart, but black can be a temperamental master. Her left leg (the one on top, Sorry, I'm dyslexic so I think it's left but don't trust me.)looks like it's being raised rather than laying flat on her right. Only on the calf part the knee and thigh look perfectly in synch with someone laying on their side. The only change I would make is shading the portion of leg under her foot, just the leg the grass can remain empty there to keep that soft touch.
Five for vision because it shows your ability to place characters in a setting and moldit to them.
Five for originality because it's very unique to your style. Four for technique because I've seen your other work. But in comparison to similar artists, you excel so 4
Impact gets four. Because it just makes you smile and makes you want to know more about these two lazy forest people. So happy together. All said, a very lovely piece.
I love the values in this...awesome job balancing those midtones in there. Also I love how clean the grey on his clothes in particular came out--it's a strong focal point for the image so it's good to have that around the other textures. (Also, nice use of the eraser on that grass in the right hand corner!)
People have already pointed out the issues with the humans, and while I agree that they're a bit distorted I'm also impressed at how natural they came out anyway--I didn't notice until I looked more closely how short the woman's body is in proportion to her head. The one thing that's actually bothering me is the patches of white + grey on the left side--they don't look deliberate, so I think they should be smoothed out with Photoshop.
I love the composition! I really, really like it. I like how even if your style is rough, you can give such details to your drawings. I can't see any problems with anatomy or perspective. And I really like how you manage to draw their expressions--the girls just look so lovely. Just a thought: maybe you could have a little more care with your lines? how to express myself...erm, for example, some lines from the guy's pants (Fyneia?) seem sloppy to me. I really love your style--it seems done with sure lines and has that rough look to it...but maybe if you clean a little more, I'd look even better. I don't know if what I wanted to say came across?
I keep and keep faving your works, but never go around and comment 'em D: but since you asked for feedback, I thought now'd be a good time to start commenting some. I feel not good at giving critics--or am either afraid to come out rude so spend a long time sidestepping and choosing my words, or come out super blunt and rude. D: >,<
D: and looking back at the drawing and the drawing, and back to the drawing again, I DO notice one thing amiss: the girl's left leg. It looks like it's kinda floating, not really resting onto her right one. And maybe it's because of the way you shaded it, but the guy's left leg looks kinda short. And that's all, really, that I can see.
I have to concur with people mentioning the perspective on him. I think most of it would be fixed if the legs were moved back a little, since it makes his upper body look longer than average. The other leg looks a bit longer than the other one, but I wouldn't worry about that, since the eye can be deceiving at odd angles. What really bothered me, at first glance, was his instrument. The neck of it is drawn from the front, without any side showing, while the other part, I don't know what to call it, the box(?) is drawn at an angle. And then the girl: her fingers look a bit odd, especially the pinky finger. And also the leg that is on top doesn't look relaxed at all. In fact, because it's so much lighter than the shaded one, and the foot's not relaxed, it looks like she's about to kick up in the air.
But I absolutely love their faces. And her body, though at a difficult angle, is very well drawn. Your drawings have such a real feel to them, I feel like touching the people. Like I feel like grabbing the leg if she kicks up at me. And I love the background too!
My eye is drawn to the girl; something's off with Gideon. Another member mentioned perspective; I concur. The white space over on the left is also jarringly blank -- especially when I consider your style. You fill the page. Perpetually. It's kind of unsettling here -- and since it's in a natural setting, the forest, it appears very unnatural.
this is really smooth and nice, i particularly like the girl's legs and feet! I suppose this is one of those drawing which you would like to have some constructive critiques on, so.. here are just my thoughts x.x I think the girl works quite fine, even if her bust is maybe too short, compared to size of the other parts of the body. The boy's got some posture problems: he looks like being drawn from a different perspective compared to her. Moreover, his body parts are drawn from different eye height: shoulers are done more from an upper pov, like the girl herself, but his lower part of the bust changes perspective, making him look like he's forcingly raising his shoulders and pushing his head between them. I would also say that he's got hips problems and the leg folded up doesn't have very functional throusers folds, thus it looks shorter than it should (either for that or for an other perspective trick). °A° all of this isn't that tragic as it sounds, i would never arrive at pointing those things if it wasn't for you asking xD
I think that you should know that you are legit one of my favourite artists *U* there is not one piece you've created that I have not LOVED. I couldn't even begin to critique your work OTL IT'S JUST SO PERFECT AND AMAZING ;u; and I truly hope that one day I can be at your level <3
